News from The Braag & Carmen et Error

Book launch, fiction announcement and more!

Some more updates from the Braag in our busiest month of the year!

Short version:
- Book Launch in 6 days!
- New fiction pamphlet announcement!
- Unfurl enters its second printing!
- Carmen et Error still open for submissions!
- Writer of newsletter using too many exclamation points!

Less than a week to go for our book launch for Pond and Gannota! These are incredible books, so if you’re in the area, please drop by! Pond and Gannota can be pre-ordered here.

Please note, the lift at the entrance to the venue is out of service and unlikely to be fixed for the 26th. I’m very sorry about this, as is the Lit & Phil, as it is normally an accessible venue. We are hoping to do an online event with the poets in the future.

Unfurl enters its second printing! We’ve been overwhelmed by the success of Unfurl: A Portrait of Another World. Unfurl is a collaborative fiction experiment by Kym Deyn, Nathaniel Spain and Finlay Worrallo that follows the inhabitants of a strange world from the earliest days of their planet onwards.

Unfurl is a collection of glimpses into an uncanny new world, rich in myth and history. Encounter mysterious shelled creatures, Librarians-at-Arms, and parasitic fungi. Fragmentary, playful, and often poignant – this is a weird, fun journey that you definitely won’t regret.” – Francesca Haig, author of The Cookbook of Common Prayer

Unfurl can be ordered here.

We can finally announce our Septemver 2024 publishing schedule - our prose pamphlet of the year is Sarah Royston’s (currently) unnamed collection. Sarah’s writing is lush, dark and folkloric - everything we love here at the Braag! I think you’ll love it too.

Finally, our micro-journal Carmen et Error is open for submissions for another few days! We love anything wild and weird. Submissions of poems up to 40 lines long and fiction up to 400 words can be sent to [email protected]. Our full guidelines can be read here, and you can see our past issues here.

All the best,
Kym
